NFTE Alumni Spotlight – May 2010:

That famous entrepreneur owner of the Virgin companies worldwide, Sir Richard Branson, recently visited South Florida to launch the Virgin America terminal at Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport. During his visit, he met with Darnell and some other students from NFTE South Florida’s E-Club, to share his secrets for success…then took them on a personal tour of a Virgin airplane!

During that tour, Richard Branson discovered Darnell had never been on a plane before. On the spot, he offered Darnell a free round-trip ticket to Virgin headquarters in San Francisco!  As a result, all this week (May 2-9) Darnell and NFTE Program Director Chris Brignolle will be in San Francisco. In addition to the trip, Darnell is being treated to a week of coaching, mentoring for his web design business, and participating in high-level meetings. In short, a life-changing experience for Darnell, who is now a student at Miami Dade College.

His week in San Francisco is being documented on the website below, with videos, tweets and a blog. Please check it out to see Darnell’s trip in action every day this week! Then go to the blog page to share a few words of support. Also feel free to share the link with friends who may be interested.

On behalf of the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship and Darnell, THANK YOU Virgin America and Virgin Unite…. and especially Sir Richard Branson, Darin Spurgeon and Jennifer Larson, who made this event possible.
